Greubel Forsey

«We are sculptors of time, choreographers of the passing hours and architects of watch movement – with a screwdriver for a brush, a propelling-pencil for a quill, and steel or gold as our supports.»

Différentiel d’Égalite

After years of research and development, Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey are especially proud to present a timepiece that contains their 5th Fundamental Invention: the Différentiel d’Égalité. It ensures a regulated driving force and improves the accuracy of the timing performance. It is also the first time that Greubel Forsey has integrated a dead-beat second in one of its timepieces.

Double Balancier

Optimising timekeeping as an alternative to the tourbillon, two inclined balance wheels are coupled to a Différentiel Sphérique Constant, which provides a more steady amplitude. Aesthetically, this timepiece catches the eye with its opening wide to the heart of the mechanism.

Double Tourbillon Technique Blue

With its open architecture offering superb visual access to the mechanism, the movement of the Double Tourbillon 30° is hand-wound. It has a 120-hour power reserve guaranteed by four fast-rotating coaxial barrels.

Grande Sonnerie

Eleven years of research and development. The assembly of no fewer than 935 parts. The filing of two patents. The development of an acoustic resonance cage producing an extremely pure sound. The incorporation of eleven security functions ensuring maximum peace of mind… These few elements alone give an idea of the magnitude of the almost gargantuan task of creating the Greubel Forsey Grande Sonnerie.

The History of Greubel Forsey

The ground-breaking spirit that is a hallmark of Greubel Forsey is particularly evident in this timepiece. It incorporates a globe to make three time zone displays visible. By reproducing the Earth’s rotation in real time, this timepiece offers an intuitive view of time all over the world and a day/night indication.

With this creation, Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey totally reinterpreted the very notion of the GMT as a watchmaking complication.
